Mandrake should never be given in overdose and should not be combined with quick or brisk cathartics.

Traditionally Mandrake herb has been used for treating vomiting, dropsy, congestion of the liver, constipation, lead poisoning, diarrhea, catarrhal or malarial jaundice, fevers, headache, rheumatism, syphilis, scrofula, prolapsed rectum (prolapses ani); uterine diseases, and pin worms.
